Feng Shui Period for Home Calculation

As noticed by an astrologist, the Star Energies are moving constantly in our cosmos. In classical Feng Shui (Xuan Kong Flying Stars) a 180year energy shift movement is noticed. At this point, all the stars line up in a straight line. This happens every 180 years. Each phase last for 20 years with a total of 9 Periods that are considered. This is because Jupiter and Mars align at this point. This causes the energy shift to happen.

Why is the house period so important?

The home period is so important because it tells us what Flying Star Energies are locked into your home. We can say that this is the “Permanent Energy” that will stay in the house. Of cause, the energy can change if certain conditions are met. As every 20 years the energy does move, so does it inside the home. Do not get confused, once the energy is locked into the house, the energy Bagua Map will never change. Now that the energies are known, the Wealth and Love Areas can be enhanced.

To debunk a common myth: The completion date of the home is NOT considered, only the moving in date is in fact correct. To demonstrate, the Qi Energy move freely in the open to attach itself to a person like you. Once you move into the house, the energy is carried by you and spread around. An empty house cannot do this. With this in mind, remember always the moving in date as the starting time.

What is my Home Period?

Basically, look at the date you have moved into your house to note your “Home Period”. For instance, a home that is completed in September 2003 is a Period 7 house. In case the owner moves in right away it still remains Period 7. In another case, the home has the same completion date, but the owner moves in April 2004. Due to the delayed moving in date, the home becomes a Period 8 home. Why it matters? The energy map of the home will be different.

Exemption to the Rules

There is a way that one can change the Home Period. If major renovation is done, a home period can be changed. By and large only major work is considered a game changer. If you believe to paint the walls, that’s not enough. We talk about to rip out the entire floor tiles, replace a new front door, or change the entire roof.

That’s what needs to be done and nothing less. Only if the work is done in a different period, the home’s energy can be changed. Let’s say you have moved into your home in 2020. This makes it a perfect Period 8 house. As Period 9 will start in 2024, only then it is considered an upgrade or change to a new Period.

In some cases, Apartments are differently handled when it comes to its energy. When a new tenant moves right away in, the period will not change. However, if some time gap is in between, there is a possibility that this can change. This is quite general as each time it needs to be looked at case by case.
